Despite a decade passing since the last recession the homeownership rate remains low. The biggest driver of this is the low ownership rate by millennials, whom are held back by high student debt loads, rising rents, a low inventory of starter homes, increasing competition from private investors & broad asset price inflation. The homeownership rate today remains around where it was in 1965.

This infographic explores the state of homeownership with relation to buyers and the US economy. It presents a significant amount of sourced data with defined headlines and a cohesive color palette, which helps create a clear visual story. While some data visualizations could benefit from alternative representations to ensure reader accuracy, the charts use clear labels and consistent formatting. The visual style is consistent as well, helping keep readers engaged. The content is clear and on topic and relies on data to support key points. Sentence-based callouts aren't the most effective format, but color does help distinguish key points. Overall, there's a lot of information here communicated with a clear structure — it just needs a bit of fine tuning. We'd give this a B.
