One of the things that will help improves the visitor’s experience while visiting your website is your color scheme. It will help speak about the message you want to convey to users. But if you are having a hard time deciding what type of colors to use, here are helpful tips to follow:

Choose Natural Palette of Colors
Using natural colors for your website is more pleasing to the eyes compared to artificial colors. Unnatural colors like bright green, red and blue may cause eye fatigue and will chase visitors away. On the other hand, choose primary colors like red, yellow and orange if your site is for culinary promotion.

Create strong contrasting backgrounds.
Create a good contrast between the pages’ background and its text like using a black text on a white background. Aside from a white background, you may use dark blue, gray, and black. Use desaturated colors only if your page is about product promotion.

Chromatic Harmony
Chromatic harmony is an important criterion in creating a pleasant website. However, choose only 3 different colors and use them consistently throughout the website. You can also choose up to 4-5 colors but more than is confusing and will create inconsistency.

In an easy-to-understand template, this infographic offers tips for selecting your colors for your website. The layout, however, could use some work. The images overlayed on the infographic contrast with the background, and vice versa. When designing an infographic, try to provide a neutral background in order to have your visuals stand-out. When your background creates as much emphasis as your visuals, you might find your viewers not reading your infographics because too much is occurring on the page at once. Drastically simplifying this infographic will allow it to perform much better than it is right now. Additionally, reducing content and correcting copy errors will ensure that this infographic is recognized as a legitimate resource to share and take insight from. As it currently stands, however, we'd give this a D.
