The interactive also provides users with examples of popular games – as well as fun facts – that were created with each of the languages that are covered. Gameplay footage also appears, adding a fun twist to an engaging page.

This interactive graphic explores different programming languages used in video game creation. The interactive approach worked quite well here, as it connected more effectively to the video game genre. Providing different screen backgrounds based on the game associated with each language helped provide some visual interest for the viewer as well as cohesion with the content. While the animation here is really interesting, it at times makes it hard to focus on the content presented in the center of each frame. Especially since there aren't visual elements accompanying the content, it might require more focus from the reader due to the background distractions. The interactive's structure does provide an overview of different languages as well as games associated with them. However, it doesn't delve into what sets these languages apart. Spending a bit more time on the languages themselves rather than the games that made them famous might help meet the reader's expectations based on the graphic's title. Overall, we'd give this a D.
