Do you know how much it really costs to be an NFL fan, or how much you would pay to attend one game?
For a family of four, the Fan Cost Index calculates the total cost of 4 average-price tickets, 2 beers, 4 soft drinks, 4 hot dogs, 2 caps, and parking pass.
This, however, is based upon face value prices – in other words, it applies to a very small fraction (less than 1%) of all NFL fans in the U.S.
Average NFL football fans, on the other hand, are used to paying secondary market rates which are mostly much, much higher than face value.
So if you substitute resale prices for face value, the Fan Cost Index for the 2015 season goes from a manageable $481 to a very unmanageable $900. This is the real cost index.

This infographic offers some data on costs associated with NFL games. The parallel structure of text, icon, and cost presents some helpful consistency across the infographic. However, the varied style might be distracting, and some of the visuals introduce bias that could be offered in more credible ways. Additionally, there could be more links between the data and the visuals. The content itself is short and sweet, but without context, there's not a complete narrative for the viewer. Overall, there's some helpful information here, but it needs a bit more cohesion to effectively communicate its goals. We'd give this an F.
