The Hyperinflated Compressed Air Movie Guide

I’m Bob Miller and I run an air compressor website. We wanted an infographic that would show some of the exciting and fun uses of compressed air in movie plots. I decided to link the movie moments with blood pressure with our pulse-o-meter rating for each movie scene we used. Air compressors are a very practical tools so we wanted to have some fun showing highly impractical compressed air uses from the world of movies.

The goal of the infographic was to entertain people and promote our site. I had fun designing the infographic myself. This is the first one that I’ve done and I hope to do more in the future.

Final Grade

This infographic compiles a handful of moments in movies where compressed air is used as a plot device. The format is consistent, flowing from to to bottom with the same beats per minute rating system, which is easy enough to follow. However, the setup is confusing, and it isn't clear what's being discussed fast enough. That combined with a copy heavy design takes away from its visual communication reach. The plot spoilers without warning will aggravate a portion of the audience. With a better intro and some supplemental design elements, this could have a stronger impact. Overall, we give this a D.
