We designed this infographic to complement the theme of workplace safety we have adopted in the resources area of our website. Combining simple data and descriptions, along with the bright colors and cartoonish illustrations, we want the viewer to stay engaged all the way from top to bottom. Statistics are often boring to most viewers, so we felt an illustrated infographic was a good way to present this data. Final Grade
This infographic does a good job of showing the different roles described, using clear illustrations. What would take this to the next level is using some form of data visualization to show the deaths per 100K full-time employees, instead of just typography. That can be tricky for small percentages of a large number like this, but there could be other creative ways to show the data to make a bigger impact. In addition, it's not visually clear that the subject is most hazardous jobs, since none of the illustrations show anyone seeming distressed or injured but instead mostly happy and healthy. Without reading, you wouldn't know that the subject is hazardous jobs. In all, we'd give this a C.
