The mix of photography and iconography is executed smartly here; when combining the two, it’s best to avoid any lavish/detailed illustration. That way, it won’t look like your infographic is pitting two different styles against one another.
It would be nice to see some instances of data visualization here, either at the number of goals scored in each phase of his career or the amount he was paid. Infographics should visualize information whenever possible to avoid reliance on text and keep the viewer engaged.
In all I’d give this infographic a B — it’s cleanly organized and avoids clutter as well as avoiding too much text. This serves as a great timeline for the player’s career and is a good recap for anyone interested in his soccer career and transition to poker.
