SinglePoint sent us this infographic along with a description:

Millennials want to connect with the community and the world, and they’re using mobile WiFi to do so. As the generation that considers mobile phones more essential than cars, Millennials use public transportation more often than Baby Boomers and Gen X-ers as they seek to help the planet, socialize online during rides, and make their lives more convenient. While the multimodal generation increases its ridership, it’s passing on its transportation-related values to future generations. This infographic looks at public transportation trends among Millennials and their dependence on mobile WiFi.

This infographic uses a combination of illustration scenes, icons, and data visualization to accompany the story of millennials and transportation options. The survey data is interesting and pretty comprehensive, and the use of illustrations and icons to reduce reliance on text is effective — right from the beginning, in the depiction of transportation methods used by millennials, there are 4 transportation methods illustrated and labeled in the single scene.

An area where the layout gets a bit confusing is the “Life in the Big City” section. Each data set occupies a different portion of space, and since there are so many data sets here it’s a bit tough to decide whether to read left-to-right, top-to-bottom, or just scan all over.

In all I’d give this infographic a B+ since it’s concise and effective.
