The layout and simple design make it easy for the viewer to navigate, and clear section headers keep everything neatly organized. Icons and illustration help break up the text a bit. The overall length of the infographic is kept fairly short, so it doesn’t take very long to get through — which is as it should be!
I especially like the “How Duct Cleaning Works” section, depicting a duct getting cleaner and cleaner until the final step. I almost expected the duct to sparkle on Step 7!
To reduce the reliance on text even further, I’d love to see more examples of the numerical data being visualized. The first thing after the title is a statistic – it could have been made into a pie chart, or a pictogram with 8.7 people out of 10 shaded in. The final section of the infographic is nearly all statistics, but the viewer has to read them to get the idea.
In all I’d give this infographic a B. It’s easy to follow, not too long, and text kept fairly short. However, infographics should always attempt to show more than they tell, so try to take advantage of every opportunity to do so!4
