SoftwareTesters.Careers is a careers resources for budding and experienced software testing and QA staff, as well as employers looking to hire new talent. We recently wrote a blog post giving advice on how to write a strong software tester job description (which also included a job description template) and soon realised it’d make a good infographic as well. The infographic goes through the process step-by-step on what to include and why. The last part of the infographic includes an example template of how it should look when you put it all together.

This infographic provides a clear, useful outline of everything you need to know to write a strong job description and hire a competitive software tester for your company. The bright colors and engaging illustrations make the infographic a pleasure to look at, but the heavy content written out in full sentences is not ideal for an infographic, which should break down complicated information into bite-sized chunks and visualize (rather than spell out) as much as possible. We would have suggested breaking the content into bullet points and using iconography wherever possible. Pulling in relevant data and visualizing that also helps. In the end, this infographic must be certainly useful to those who need this information, but it's overwhelming in its delivery of said information. We'd give this a C.
