This infographic begins with a timeline using a drill bit as the visual device to carry the chronology; since the subject is drilling and mining, this is a clever and engaging approach. Several of the milestones on the timeline and in subsequent sections also have related icons; some are very successful (the oil can on the outline of Texas implies a Texas oil boom pretty well), while others require a bit more insight (the patent paper conveys the idea of a patent in general, but it would be helpful to elaborate on the items being patented beyond just the dynamite a few points above). It's a little unusual to have a 3D-style illustration come in only at the very end of a design, as the Utex shock sub does, so we'd recommend considering overall style of the infographic and choosing something more unified for the icons and product illustration. As for the copy, remember to include sources for your information. In all we'd give this a B-.
