Over the past couple years the United States and China have engaged in a bruising trade war. This infographic recaps the trade war along with the important roll pigs placed in helping Trump secure victory. Throughout 2019 the price of pork more than doubled inside China as African Swine Fever killed off about half of their domestic hog herd. That in turn forced China to remove tariffs on United States pork exports in December and sign a trade deal in January. https://pigly.com/budget/trade-war/

Final Grade

This infographic provides an overview of various relationships: China and trade, China and pigs, pork in today's diet around the world, US and China, and animals and illness. The visual style is consistent throughout, and even though the visual tone is more lighthearted, the visuals themselves do begin to communicate their associated points. The infographic itself does require reading, as much of the information detail is captured in the text. While the subheads are helpful, this approach overall may not be the most helpful in an infographic setting. Additionally, it's not always clear how the numerous topics here connect to the title or to each other, so readers may get lost in following the main points. Overall, this infographic sets a clear visual tone, but it's a bit too broad to clearly deliver to its audiences. We'd give this an F.
