Once upon a time, the hedgehog was the ubiquitous first point of contact for UK citizens and native wildlife. Presently, the once common sight in parks and gardens is now a rare sight, and there are many who have never seen a hedgehog in their lifetime. These small brown mammals with spines and pointed snouts are an underestimated component in contributing to the health of gardens, and ultimately the environment.

This infographic discusses the hedgehog population in the United Kingdom. A scenic design approach carries the viewer through grassy parks, gardens, and hillsides while exploring the information. The illustrations are engaging, but the approach favors a text-based approach with a few related illustrations versus taking on attempts at data visualization for the statistics. While not required, inserting some data visualization can call attention to important stats and break up the design a bit. Some areas of text are also fairly long which can encourage the viewer to skim. In all we'd give this a C.
