Beginning with an visually informative header, this infographic goes on to use illustrations and data visualization to explain the issue of food wastage. The illustrations always relate to the topic, but sometimes only at a high level to where the illustrations don't support the text enough or push the narrative forward; for example, under "Why the Wastage?" the garbage cans are clearly about waste, but the labels on each have to do with something more specific that can't be communicated with the garbage cans alone. This does help support the overall theme and message and can be a fine technique when used sparingly as it is here, but it's worth considering. Later on in the section, the illustrations return to good use. Be careful when using data viz that fills in nongeometrical objects, like the trash bags — it's tough for the eye to judge 56% of a filled-in trash bag, and it ends up looking like more. The design ends with a strong and clear call to action. In all we'd give this an A-; room for improvement would just be to ensure that illustrations support both the theme at large and the individual points for excellent visual communication.
