Infographic with a historical time line showing the evolution of the telephone, starting in the 1600’s and going to the present. Funny enough, the first entry is from 1664, when Robert Hooke was the first to experiment with two tin cups and string, as a means to transfer music. Things got serious in 1876 when Alexander Graham Bell was credited with inventing the first true telephone. However the first dial phone was not invented until 1905, and the first transcontinental call occurred in 1915 between Bell and Watson. Today we have amazing smart phones, that can do almost anything that a computer can do. If you like this infographic, check out the history of the cell phone infographic.
