Over the past year or so we’ve blogged about many aspects of employee engagement and intranet software. The infographic below pulls together some of the employee engagement statistics that we’ve found along the way. It is clear that employee engagement has a direct impact on service, sales, quality, safety, retention, profits and total shareholder returns. The decision to be engaged is made in workers hearts, not in their minds.

Through a data-driven approach, this infographic informs readers about the benefits of engaged employees. While the infographic conveys the message, much of the communication occurs via text, affecting visual communication overall. For example, though many forms of data-visualization are present, a reader cannot understand the data without reading blocks of accompanying text. As a potential fix, the data-visualization could be redesigned to feature these data points in one form - either copy or data visualization. Additionally, character styles are inconsistent, and the infographic could benefit from a more unified design style. Moreover, despite the strength of the content, the script contains multiple typos, sentence fragments, and inconsistent uses of punctuation. Overall, we'd give this a D.
