The introductory text dives into a bit more detail to offer some additional context. Using icons in a 2-column layout is a good way to communicate information. Using data is a common technique in infographics, and the bottom half of this submission relies on such data. While the use of data is a good strategy, it's application here falls short. With the closed circles and the alternating adjustments, it's not easy to read along. The data isn't visualized either in charts or graphs and is simply just text over an image. The design style, while clean, is inconsistent. From the hand-sketch style header to soft no-fill icons to photography to silhouettes in the footer, there doesn't appear to be an established art direction.
