Are you considering Cassandra or MongoDB as the data store for your next project? Would you like to compare the two databases? Cassandra and MongoDB are both “NoSQL” databases, but the reality is that they are very different. They have very different strengths and value propositions – so any comparison has to be a nuanced one. This infographic is meant to help you select between the two data stores according to your specific requirements. If you would like, this infographic is also embeddable, so please grab the code at the original blog post on the Scalegrid blog. This infographic outlines the differences between Cassandra and MongoDB. While the information is credibly researched and clearly explained, there is little in terms of visual communication. This piece has great icons for resting the eye; however, the visuals do not necessarily contribute to comprehension of the complicated text. Especially because your organization links to the original article, it may be worthwhile to create a more visual approach toward communicating your information. Think of this infographic as a visual summary of your article, not as the article itself. This would mean reducing the language to its most simplistic meaning, and adding supplementary visuals to aid in the expression of ideas. The design style is pleasant, and the green accent color is a great highlight. Nonetheless, though the piece is informative, it is not visual. As it currently stands, we'd give this a C.
