Tires were not originally black. They were made white in the early days. Whitewalls were painted on each of the side of the tires. It was Vogue Tyres in Chicago who invented whitewall tires. Besides the white tires, early cars also used artillery wheels, making tire replacement difficult. Here are some fun facts about tires, in an infographic from Burt Brothers Tire & Service.

The imagery throughout this design clearly shows that the topic is tires. Certain images, like the first one, communicate something specific about the individual facts — in this case, artillery tires. However, after that the imagery is much more general; we don't see all-white tires, whitewall tires, open fenders, etc. Specific imagery helps remove the reliance on text to understand the information, so use it at every opportunity! The infographic also ends abruptly without a conclusion. In all we'd give this a D.
