“Among the most widely read are QS World University Rankings, Shanghai Ranking, and THE World University Rankings. They publish the annual international rating of the universities and colleges. They also allow choosing a particular region to look up (Asia, Latin America, Europe, North America etc). For our infographic, we chose the international QS Ranking since it passed the IREG Ranking Audit. It uses the significant criteria: scientific and employer reputation, number of international faculty and students.

The StudentShare infographic shows you the latest available information about the top-universities’ annual fee, the number of students and acceptance rate.”

Final Grade

This infographic ranks US universities' tuition fees, acceptance rates, international student percentage, and total student population. For anyone concerned about how these top schools rank, this infographic is an informative, useable take on interesting data. However, the visual communication on this infographic is weak. The information about the universities' rankings could be read on a table, and these visualizations do little more than represent the information in a table, with some surrounding illustrations. The design style, for the most part, is engaging; however, there are some incongruities in terms of character illustrations. For example, the graduated students in the lower right corner of the graphic do not match the illustration style in the main graphic. Despite these inconsistencies, the content is easy to follow, and the information, as stated previously, is useable. Because it is not visualized effectively at the moment, we'd give this a D.
