This infographic was submitted to us by Consorte Marketing, who also provided this description:

Nobody wants to end up with negative reviews online, but it happens to everyone. Even a perfectly trustworthy company can be destroyed by false posts from a scam board or even a competitor. Having to deal with these false accusations can be frustrating, especially when you’ve never encountered this particular dilemma before. Suppress negative posts about your business before your brand gets tarnished with online reputation management. It’s not an easy task, but the results are truly worth it in the end. Consorte Marketing has put together an infographic to guide you through the process. This online reputation management infographic is a great way to skip all the anxiety, and start actively working towards a proven solution.

This graphic has solid specific tips on how to keep your online reputation from ruining your business–or how to fix a poor reputation. The design is clear, easy to interpret and well organized, and the information is to-the-point. The obvious conclusion is also a positive: we know exactly what to expect from the introduction and we know what the takeaway is from the conclusion.

We typically discourage white backgrounds, though the red border helps to lessen the negative effect (blending in to the background of blogs, web pages etc. where it might be shared). The other main comment is that while this infographic does contain visualized data, there isn’t a lot of it. We see one case study, but no numbers on how important reputation management is to most brands, or the average number of negative reviews a consumer might read before deciding not to buy, etc. A few more numbers scattered throughout could help emphasize the main points. Based on that, I’d give this infographic a B.

This infographic was submitted by Shellshock UK. They provided the following description:

BrightonSEO is one of the best and most loved conferences in the UK. This incredible free event boasts a selection of high-profile leading authority speakers and an element of fun thrown into the day. BrightonSEO commissioned a souvenir poster as a keepsake for speakers and VIP guests. Only a limited edition of 50 prints were made but you can see a digital version here. The infographic outlines the growth of the conference and the historic venue of The Dome in Brighton.

I really like the overall aesthetic of the infographic, though a background other than white would be nice. There is a lot of good data here that illustrates the event. I love the stat about the event selling out faster than Justin Bieber, and the roller coaster chart for 3900% growth is so cute! I’d love to see more actual data visualization like that chart in order to break up all the text in the graphic.

It’s short and sweet, which is important for an infographic that aims to hold the viewer’s attention, but there is so much packed into the small space that it still winds up looking a bit overwhelming. One of the reasons I like the roller coaster chart so much is that that’s where my eye goes–it’s the most unique element, aside from the pier skyline.

Overall I would give this a B-, though, because of the packed appearance and a few missed opportunities for data viz. Adding another few hundred pixels to the length would really help this breath more so that the viewer could really absorb the information. It’s all there, it’s just hard to digest!

The last couple of years have brought about hundreds of thousands of infographics on all sorts of topics, but some are still missing out on the benefits. Infographics are an easy and unique way to bring success to your business.

BRAND BUILDING

Infographics are a unique way to build your company brand. Launching an infographic – especially one that is well-designed, as well as unique and relevant to your target audience – can say a lot about your corporate identity. Integrating infographics into your design and content plan can do loads for your ability to show your audience who you really are and distinguish yourself from the rest of the crowd.

Similar to blogs, infographics are also a great way to establish yourself as a thought leader in your field. They aren’t just for regurgitating established data–you can also build an argument with them. If you can utilize complex information that is relevant to the concerns and interests of your target audience, you can build trust among your subscribers and create clout for your product.

ACCESSIBILITY

Part of what makes infographics such an attractive marketing tool is their incredible ability to go viral. As our attention spans get shorter, the need to produce simple and accessible content becomes greater. In the tech and online marketing industry, the ideas being shared are becoming increasingly complex, but need to be expressed in simpler ways. Infographics have been shown (and continue) to be a near-perfect solution to this problem, conveying complicated data in a way that audiences can understand and are more likely to share. Displaying the information visually is much better than giving your subscribers a weighty reading assignment.

SHAREABLE

The accessibility of infographics is very closely tied in with another attribute that brings them so much success – shareability. Infographics, as well as niche blogs and social networks, are becoming increasingly popular. This creates an environment in which infographics will be shared freely and frequently. With the number of infographics that are out there, it may seem unlikely that your IG will get much love, but worry not. Case studies have shown that well-designed, simple infographics that contain useful (like IG about the effects of sitting at work) or topical and controversial (the Too Big to Fail bank IG) go viral easily. Even clever IGs on more niche topics get plenty of attention in the blogosphere.

LINK BUILDING

Marketers have been taking advantage of the viral capability of infographics and using them as link bait, and so should you. Providing useful information to share can build numerous back links to your site, which of course does wonders for SEO. The more your infographic is shared, the greater the opportunity to create inbound links to your site. It is that simple.

ALL IN ALL…

No matter which way you look at it, infographics have immense value as a marketing, SEO, and branding tools. If you haven’t already taken advantage, get on it – infographics are here to stay, but the sooner your business can benefit, the better.

This infographic comes to us from Go-Gulf.com and covers a very important topic: SEO. SEO is a pretty complex method of getting websites to rank better in search engines like Google. There have been a lot of great SEO infographics like the Google PageRank Infographic and more. This infographic does a good job of explaining to webmasters exactly why they shouldn’t ignore SEO when building websites. The infographic doesn’t explain SEO, as that’s pretty tricky to explain and everyone has their own methods of going about it. It instead explains why it’s such an important piece of online marketing to focus on as search engines continue to be the channel of choice for those seeking goods and services online.

The infographic has a very eye catching design and a lot of great facts. I have 1 small complaint about the infographic which can easily be argued as a personal preference: the background and sticky notes have nothing to do with SEO, so why use them? I love when infographics use a lot of textures and the sticky note style to separate information, but sometimes it’s only used to separate information and has nothing to do with the basic theme of the infographic. Since the sticky notes don’t tie into the topic, I’m not sure why they were chosen for this design? In my opinion, infographics should only include the elements that are necessary, and sticky notes aren’t necessary in this. Of course, it is great to look at, so again, this is my personal preference and I doubt many people would bring the same concerns to the table.

This infographic comes to us from ZippyCart.com, which touts itself as the Internet’s leading e-commerce software review website. While this infographic doesn’t 100% have to do with e-commerce, ZippyCart does have an audience for it, as many merchants want to know how to improve their SEO to rank better in search engines. While there are many factors that go into SEO, most optimizers target Google, and to target Google is to target the idea that created the search engine: PageRank. As the infographic states:

PageRank is a 0-10 score assigned by Google that rates the popularity of an indexed web page based on the number and type of external links pointing to that page.

While that may sound complicated, this infographic does a wonderful job of simplifying the entire thing, by comparing PageRank to a high school popularity contest like running for prom king. Once you understand that this is what the infographic is about, it’s rather easy to navigate through it and learn all of the intricacies of Google’s infamous PageRank score. The infographic shows that links from certain websites mean more than others, just like votes from certain members of the student body will mean more than votes from the less popular crowd of burn outs and band nerds (I was a band nerd, so I can say that).

This infographic has gotten a great deal of love since its creation, and many out there have cut off the bottom to try and pass this off as their own creation. Because of this, I suggest that anyone thinking of creating an infographic think hard about where they place their company logo. When you place a logo where people can cut it off, it harms your chances of getting the credit you deserve for creating a killer infographic!
