At first, “Market Share” is treated like a proper noun (yet “super bowl” isn’t properly capitalized), but then “market share” is all lowercase in the next sentence. The typos continue throughout the IG.</p> <p>Proofreading is a critical step in the creation of any project. When an infographic is shared across the web, it doesn’t positively reflect on your company to present something that’s noticeably flawed. It’s exciting to see a finished design and want to start sharing it, but don’t skip that final step!</p> <p>As for data visualization, the “Ads of 60+ Seconds in the Super Bowl” would have been an apt place for that. It even seems that the visuals on which the percentages are shown are mimicking circle graphs. However, the length of the outline on the circle is the same for every year, even when the percentages vary. A similar problem occurs in “Advertising Spending Per Year” — it seems to be a bar chart, but the length of the bars simply increases by year, not by how much the spending increased or decreased, so it’s not really doing its job. Quickly changing these so that they reflect the data would be a good direction toward including data visualization.</p> <p>Also, although there is some diversity in fonts, one of the main ones used is Arial. Arial doesn’t really shine in graphic designs, so with the wide variety of fonts available to us now, it’s generally preferable to branch out a bit.</p> <p>In all I’d have to give this infographic a D. There’s a lot of good information here and a great amount of hard statistics! It’s surprising to see how many tailgaters arrive several hours before the game to set up and get cooking, especially considering 1 in 3 of them never even enter the game! I’m going to guess that live streams and portable TVs are common for this reason — it would be nice to see some stats on how tailgaters prefer to watch the game when it’s broadcast.

The organization/layout is a little cramped, so it’s hard to decide what to look at first. There isn’t a lot of breathing room to let each stat stand out on its own. A little more negative space would benefit the design.

I understand the reasoning for the colors, but they come out a little garish on my screen. Of course, that’s different for almost everyone, but it gets hard to look at after awhile.

I love the football design for Top 10 College Tailgating Destinations. Very clever! And the positives and negatives of each type of cargo carrier will help outfit any tailgater.

Overall I’d give this infographic a B — it’s got great stats and info but could use a little bit of rethinking on organization and possibly color scheme.

This is a fun infographic that covers 16 facts you probably didn’t know about the NFL. The facts range from random to very detailed, with lots of money associated to some seemingly small aspects of the game of football. One interesting fact is that a full football game has an average of 11 minutes with players actually playing and 67 minutes of them standing around. Other fun facts from this infographic include:

• A football is not made out of pigskin. It’s made from cowhide
• The Yellow line that appears in a broadcast game costs $5.1million per year
• Antacid sales increase by 20% the Monday following the Super Bowl

All in all, these facts are definitely fun and interesting, creating a great way to kick off this year’s NFL season. The overall design is OK, though the hard angles for some of the added clip art can be a little distracting since they seem oddly placed. Regardless, any football fan will find some interesting information to share at their next tailgating event by checking out this infographic.

With football season starting up, fans are getting ready to get back into the swing of things and get their tailgate on. While some fans have an entire setup complete with grill, beer pong, TV, radio, and more, others might just be getting into this time honored tradition. Luckily, for those that are die hard fans, a website about medical insurance has decided to create a completely off-topic infographic about tailgating. While I’m not sure if anyone needs such a detailed guide to tailgating, it is a pretty fun infographic with a lot of great facts and figures that you can use for a conversation starter at your next pre-game party.

The infographic begins with the history of tailgating and goes onto display some stats about tailgaters and beer. Next, it jumps into a detailed section about games to play during tailgating, then offers some quick warnings, before talking about the best tailgating locations in the country.
