This infographic comes to us from PilatesSupply.com and shows the differences between Pilates and Yoga. Upon submitting the infographic, the people at PilatesSupply.com said the following:

Pilates vs. Yoga is an infographic that describes the differences and similarities of the two practices. They are commonly mixed up, therefore the designer at PilatesSupply.com thought it might be helpful for everyone to see the results.

All in all, the infographic is an OK first start, but isn’t really an infographic in the traditional sense. Instead, this is a ven diagram, and believe me there is a difference. An infographic includes a great deal of data points that are displayed mainly through imagery. Infographics rely more on imagery than they do text and they have a nice flow about them allowing you to take in a large array of information in a short period of time. This ven diagram would become an infographic if it included other important stats and displayed those states through design and images. Some stats that would be great to add include the history of Yoga and the history of Pilates, how many people practice Yoga vs. Pilates, how many moves are there in Yoga vs. Pilates, etc. Right now, there is a lot of improvement necessary for this design to take off, but it’s a nice first start.
